teaching
Courses I teach at the University of Alcalá.
I teach networking and security courses in the Telecommunication and Computer Engineering degrees at the Polytechnic School, and in the Master's Degree in Cybersecurity, which I direct. Courses with published resources link to their page, with the visualizations and materials for each unit.
- Network Architecture I (21 resources)
- Network Architecture (21 resources) , Computer Engineering degrees; same course as Network Architecture I
- Network Architecture II
- Computer Networks
- Security (1 resource)
- Design and Development of Secure Systems , Master's Degree in Cybersecurity
My office is E243. Office hours and the class timetable of each semester are on the timetable page.
teaching projects
Besides the materials of each course, I publish reusable tools, software and open data, with code and data under a free license:
- Polytechnic School timetables and courses as open data: The timetables of the Polytechnic School degrees, extracted from the official PDFs into a format that can be browsed, filtered and downloaded, together with the course guide of every subject.
- Interactive visualizations for computer networks courses: Open repository with the interactive visualizations of Network Architecture I, in Spanish and English, with a metadata catalogue, the source of the larger pieces and versions archived on Zenodo with a DOI.
- TCP trace generator for congestion control exercises: Python and Scapy script that simulates a TCP Reno or Tahoe connection and produces the pcap capture and a log of its internal state; its classroom mode generates deterministic traces, solvable by hand, for congestion control exercises.
supervised theses
I supervise bachelor's and master's theses. There is a selection of supervised theses, with links to their full text.
